Anniversary
I never thought as I left home in June 1997 to work in a summer camp that in just a few days I would be meeting my husband. I'm so blessed to have you in my life. We've had a WILD ride so far, but our relationship has a solid foundation that has kept us together in our difficult timesas well as our joyful times. After eight years of marriage we have had 11 cars, 7 surgeries, 6 pets, 5 kids, 4 churches, 2 houses, and only God knows how many miles we've traveled. I love you so much and I look forward to what lies ahead, around the bend.

Visiting...
The past couple weeks has been all about friends and family. Here are some of the highlights of our travels!
T.J. and Big K spending some quality time together on the porch at Big K's new house in Ringold, GA.

Here are Randell and Emmie getting some swing time together.

Definitely the highlight of the trip to Ringold for me was seeing my best friend, Ali Ott and her two cute kids, Zoe and Eli.

I was able to head back to what I consider to be my hometown for my 10 year reunion. I didn't actually go to the party but opted to meet up with some of my close friends instead. Chad and Suzi Claybrook and her parents had us over for dinner. I regret that I didn't take pictures, but I had a wonderful time! Their daughter looks just like Chad! Hopefully we can get back there soon. Later on in the weekend I was able to visit with James and Melinda Poole. They had a big influence in my life, and I enjoyed visiting them at their farm. I'm looking forward to seeing them again sometime soon.

Are you FLYing yet?
Anyone who knows anything about me knows that I have struggled the majority of my adult life with cleaning house. Clutter is everywhere and every room is messy. I am a perfectionist. If I can't get it right, I get angry and give up. Hallelujah and Praise God for the FLY lady! Not only is she honest about her perfectionism, but she's willing to share what she's learned with others.
If you aren't FLYing and you are a Mommy/Wife/Whoever who can't get your home under control, then you need to check out this website:
http://flylady.net/
This lady is amazing. It's basically common sense stuff that we've known our entire lives but haven't ever spoken out loud or implemented in our homes. I've been FLYing now for two weeks, and I can't even express to you how peaceful the house is now, how peaceful I am now. I feel good about myself because I haven't allowed myself to become bogged down with all the housework, neglecting playing with the kids to fold laundry and feeling guilty or neglecting housework and playing with kids only to be too overwhelmed that evening to do anything! This system really works! Try it!

Art and Applesauce
Earlier today Sarah Kate and I went to our local discount store, code for Wal-Mart, and picked out some paint. Our teensy-weensy Wal-Mart only had the little paint containers. You know what I'm talking about, the ones that are about the width of a penny and just as tall. Anyway, when we arrived home, we had lunch and Zack the applesauce bandit attacked. He stole Evan's plate and licked off the applesauce...I put them to bed in order to scare away the "grumpies." Click to see pictures of Zack, the applesauce bandit!

He got my plate!

The Family Box Turtle
Yesterday after a refreshing rain shower, Sarah Kate noticed something moving across our yard. It was this cute little box turtle. I grabbed the camera and took some pictures of it. T.J. and Sarah Kate loved touching the shell. Zack and Evan were asleep, so they missed out on the fun!

Long time...no post
Things have been going so quickly here. It's hard to know where to start. We've been in the interview process with a church, and two more have called today. The Lord is on the move. Please pray that we will be sensitive to his calling and leadership. In the meantime the twins celebrated their 2nd birthday, Randell got a raise at work, Emmie had her check up, T.J. graduated from Pre-K, and Sarah Kate finished up her kindergarden year. Wow. A lot can happen in a short time period. I don't get out of school until Wed. I'm waiting for that day!

This is a pic. from Easter Sunday.
